Purpose:

bulletTo seek God for our own revival
bulletTo seek God for others who need a touch from God
bulletTo seek God that we would have unity of the Spirit in our Church
bulletTo seek God that we will see the Spirit move in our body
bulletTo seek God that we can more powerfully use us to bring others to Christ
bulletTo seek God that we will be salt in Bangor, Maine and wherever God wants to use us.

What we ask of you:

bulletTo forgo dinner as a mild fast before attending--if you can. If you can't, give up something else you like to do.
bulletCome with an attitude of repentance, humility and seeking God and the power of the Holy Spirit in your life and the life of His Church.
bulletCome expecting God to move in your heart that night and the Church in the weeks ahead.
bulletCome expecting to stay the night if possible. Just because you can't, do not let that stop you from spending several hours with us.

Night's Activities (times are approximate):

7:00 to 8:30 pm (Confession and Repentance) Name of person responsible

bulletHow does sin block our prayers. We wind up asking for the wrong thing because sin blocks our understanding of God's will. (James 4:1-4)
bulletBrainstorm different kinds of sin that can entangle us and make us ineffective.
bulletUnforgiveness, hatred, bitterness
bulletGossip, backbiting, slander
bulletNot being obedient to Christ
  • Pride, self-justification, arrogance
  • Being caught up in the world

    bulletSeeking worldly recognition

    bulletAs we brainstorm sin, we will be convicted of things we have not repented of. There will be a time when we can privately write them down on paper and nail our sins to the cross.

    bullet15 to 20 minutes of seeking God in prayer for our own lives.

    8:30-9:30 pm (Spiritual Warfare) Name of person responsible

    bulletHow can and does Satan attack us?

    bulletHow does Satan use it to weaken and destroy the church?
    bulletIdentify spiritual strongholds in the community. bulletUse directed prayer to attack those strongholds we have identified.

    9:30-10:30 pm (Intercession for Our Teens & Children) Name of person responsible

    bulletReading from the Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Pastor Jim Cymbala about prayer releasing God to convict his wayward daughter and bring her back from the pit of hell.
    bulletDiscuss and give testimonies on how God has worked in your kids lives
    bulletPray, intercede and release God to push back the spiritual forces deceiving our teens and children in the Church, especially those that are drifting. Use 1 Peter 5:6-9 as guide.

    10:30-12:00 pm (Evangelism) Name of person responsible

    bulletWatch first 15 minute segment of video called Transformation on how God is moving powerfully in Columbia where His people have sought Him, starting with prayer vigils.
    bulletDiscuss the video and what it means to us. How can we seek a closer walk with Christ?
    bulletBreak out into individual prayer focusing on how God can use you to bring Him glory!

    12:00-1:00 am (Intercession for Each Other) Name of person responsible

    bulletSomeone from the Walking with Jesus program share what they have been doing in seeking Christ and some of the spiritual warfare that has occurred.
    bulletA time of sharing -- Walking with Jesus participants should have a lot to share. The sharing and testimonies are not limited to them, however.
    bulletPraying for each other. Break into non-married pairs. Each person prays for the other and their family after hearing prayer requests. Then the whole group prays for pastor and his family separately, and then for their family.

    1:00-2:00 am (The Purpose and Function of the Church) Name of person responsible

    bulletDiscuss the function of the Church, perhaps using Ephesians 4:11-16 as the scripture basis.
    bulletWhat is the purpose of the Church?
    bulletHow is supposed to function?
    bulletWhat is our purpose within the Church?
    bulletTestimonies.
    bulletPrayer Stations in each room in the Church will be used in which each person can spend 5 minutes at praying for the activity or the people who use the room that God might be glorified in that room. One-half hour will be devoted in this segment so one person can do 6 rooms. (There will be three half-hour segments to do all 18 rooms)

    2:00-3:00 am (Intercede for Each Member of the Church) Name of person responsible

    bulletSecond fifteen minute segment of Transformation video on how God is working in Nigeria
    bulletContinue discussing the Body of Christ, how each person has a gift to contribute to a well functioning body and what we can do to encourage the body to function like it should.
    bulletTestimonies
    bulletUsing the current phone book; each person pray for each person in the book, plus any others that may be needed.

    3:00-4:00 am (Learning how to Love One Another as Christ Loved Us) Name of person responsible

    bulletSinging
    bulletDiscuss the new commandment given to us by Jesus in John 13:34-35?
    bulletWhat does it mean to love one another as Jesus loved us? How do we do it? 2 Pet 1:3-11.
    bulletTestimonies
    bulletContinue praying at prayer stations throughout the Church.

    4:00-5:00 am (How to Witness) Name of person responsible

    bulletDiscuss the Great Commandment in Matthew 28.
    bulletAre we all to be evangelists? How are we to share the gospel of Christ?
    bulletTestimonies
    bulletFinish praying at prayer stations throughout the Church.

    5:00-6:00 am (Interceding for Bangor) Name of person responsible

    bulletDiscuss the Biblical principles about praying for your community and governing leaders
    bulletTestimonies
    bulletUsing a map of Bangor, each person pray for different sections of the city, including city hall and our governing officials.

    6:00-7:30 am Breakfast of fruit, eggs, bread, coffee etc.
