Few Americans and even fewer Christians are
aware of an incredible effort on the part of the international community
to create a world government and world religion. The goal is to implement
both through international law by 2007.
The implications to the Christian Church are
far-reaching. If these efforts are successful, pastors of Churches will be
required top ledge allegiance to pantheistic ethics, shifting the purpose
of the Church from that of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to that of
saving what is believed to be a living, sentient Mother Earth. The planned
world government appears to be patterned after the old Roman Empire,
raising the specter of the beast described in Daniel, Revelation and other
prophetic books.
The Church in America is asleep. It is not spiritually
prepared for what is likely to happen in the near future that will provide
the greatest opportunity the Church has ever had to evangelize the world. Discerning
the Times Digest and NewsBytes attempts to provide focused,
real time information that will inform the busy reader from a Biblical
perspective of what is happening today as this agenda unfolds. Information
that not only relates to how the global agenda affects the Church,
families and individual Christians, but information that can also be read
and shared with non-Christians to demonstrate that the only hope is Jesus
Christ.
Jesus warns in Matthew 24:10-11 that "At that
time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each
other and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people." Never
has God's admonition in Hosea 4:6 that "my people are destroyed
from lack of knowledge" been more apparent than in the Church
today. Without the knowledge of what God is doing to fulfill His word in
these troubled times, many believers will be deceived and chase after
false prophets believing it is of God and betraying their former brothers.
It is the purpose of Discerning the Times Digest and NewsBytes to
inform Christians so that they may be part of God's solution –
to be messengers of God's hope through Jesus Christ –
rather than part of the problem when they are blown out of their spiritual
saddles for lack of knowledge.
