The omnipotent, godless government
Friday, November 10 Newsmax reported that parents are
increasingly rebelling against in-school surveys they say are intrusive,
inappropriate and even encouraging of immoral behavior through suggestive
questions. For today's generation the following "pop quiz"
appears to be the order of the day for our young people. It has replaced
reading, writing and arithmetic, or at the very least is considered as
important:
• "Have you ever considered killing
yourself?"
• "Have you ever had oral sex?"
• "When you have sex, how often do you use
birth control?" (Not even if, but when.)
• "Are
you heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or not sure?"
In other actions of perversion, on November 10 Reuters
ran a story announcing a bill just passed in Germany opening the door to
gay marriage. Even though it stops short of giving homosexual partners the
"same rights" as traditional couples, proponents exclaimed it
was a step toward eliminating discrimination against homosexuals in
Germany. The law approved by the Bundestag allows gay couples to
officially register marriages, enjoy the same tenant and inheritance
rights as heterosexual couples and have hospital visiting rights and some
joint parenting rights for children living in a gay couple's home. Every
small victory is another step closer to a world-wide mandate of
"tolerance" concerning alternative lifestyles that will
increasingly cast the "moral minority" in a negative light. As
homosexuals gain more and more rights, Christians are losing theirs.
Electronic Telegraph reported Tuesday November 7 that
civil libertarians in America are forcing the removal of a First World War
memorial cross because it "represents an illegal endorsement of
religion on public land." Peter Eliasberg, lawyer for the union,
said: "A cross promotes Christian beliefs over others, which is not
the role of government." Not surprisingly, the union's action has
raised fears that memorial crosses across America may have to be removed.
Babies without sex
Monday November 6 World Net Daily ran an incredible
story as reported by the London Sunday Times that a company run by a
bizarre cult was to start work that week on creating the world's first
cloned human baby. The cloning initiative, being led by Brigitte
Boisselier, 44, a French-born biochemist, says "the purpose of the
project is philosophical, to create eternal life." The the company, called Clonaid believes humans originated from
aliens, and that humans are all cloned from a group of alien scientists from
another planet.
Psalm 139 verse 14 says that "we are fearfully
and wonderfully made." Verses 15-16 go on to say that our frame
was not hidden from God when we were made in the secret place, when we
were woven together in the depths of the earth and His eyes saw our
unformed bodies.
However, it appears this new breed of mad scientists
and cultists have never read those words before. In another example on
October 25, 2000 The Daily Express News reported that now you don't need
to have sex to make a baby. One of America's leading scientists predicted
that the idea of having "sex in order to have babies will be dead
within 20 years" and that the "messy business of procreation
will, in the richest parts of the world, be consigned to history as humans
take control of their evolution and turn instead to the creation of
designer babies."
What's worse than that, however, is the fact that out
of "pure selfishness" the article further explains that many
embryos will be rejected because of potential birth defects. What that
really means is that many would-be people will never get a chance to live
out their days on earth because they weren't good enough. Verse 16 of
Psalm 139 continues with this statement made by King David: "All
the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came
to be." In light of this passage and man's bold arrogance playing
God, all the days for many people are going to be big fat zeros in God's
book of life because man is subverting God's creative process. But this
really is no different from abortion as we know it today, only now man is
taking it a step further.
Man now is taking over for God, creating a perversion
that flies in the face of a loving and Holy God. "We will be able to
screen for lots of genetic diseases. We will, in essence, be able to take
a single cell from an embryo in the lab and calculate from that how the
child will develop. Effectively, the child will have to pass a test before
it is even born. Eventually it will be thought as reckless to have a child
without genetic screening as to have a child without pre-natal screening,
as happens today," claims the article. Genetic screening is
controversial because it allows doctors to decide which embryos created in
the test tube should be implanted into the woman's womb and which should
be rejected.
What a terrifying fate lies ahead for those who make
such statements without any thought of consequence or retribution from the
One who made them. There is another beautiful verse in Scripture that they
should read and take heed to. Ecclesiastes 11:5 says: "As you do
not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's
womb so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things."
The footnote for this verse is even more succinct:
"As you do not know the path of the wind, or know how the spirit
enters the body being formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand
the work of God, the Maker of all things."
God is still in control
No doubt there are many Christians in America and
around the world who are uneasy and are wondering where God is as the world plummets into perversion. But the
Lord Himself rebuked Israel for speaking against Him regarding the growing
wickedness in Malachi's day. "You have said harsh things against
me, says the Lord. Yet you ask, 'What have we said against you?' You have
said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his
requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty? But
now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and
even those who challenge God escape." (Malachi 3:13-15 NIV)
God then issues a strong warning to those who come
against him and offers hope to those who are obedient in Malachi 4:1-3
NIV. "Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All
the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is
coming will set them on fire,' says the Lord Almighty. Not a root
or a branch will be left to them.... But for you who revere my name, the
sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go
out and leap like calves released from the stall. Then you will trample
down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the
day when I do these things," says the Lord Almighty."
Although the news is full of man's arrogance and
disobedience to God, the Lord is still in control and He is not slow in
keeping his promise. He is patient with everyone wanting all to come to
repentance: The corrupt teachers, homosexuals, persecutors, those involved
in false religion, even those trying to create eternal life and hijack
legitimate presidential elections.
The Lord is eternal life and desires to give Himself
freely to anyone who asks with a sincere heart. And as the United States
of America waits to see who will be the next President, the Lord God
Almighty also waits as long as He can for hearts to turn before His wrath
is poured out on a desperately wicked generation. V
