    Russia's Grand Deception

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has been pillaged and plundered by the Russian Mafia and the KGB (now called the FSB, short for the Federal Security Service). Yet, at the same time Russia is spending hundreds of billions of dollars to prepare for war. What is going on?

Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia, now seems to be in control of Russia, which likely means the KGB is back in control. Putin was partially responsible for the KGB’s efforts to move hundreds of billions of dollars out of Russia.

At best, Russian politics are murky, but a pattern is unfolding that reveals a nation that is increasingly desperate and dangerous. It starts with overwhelming evidence that the entire collapse of the Soviet Union was planned by the KGB.

Russian analyst Jeff Nyquist details in September’s Dispatches magazine how the KGB knew that the Soviet system could not survive under its existing economic and social structure. The West was rapidly outstripping them in civilian and military high technology, and the KGB understood they were destined to lose the Cold War.

In his 1984 book, New Lies for Old, KGB defector Anatoliy Golitsyn not only warned of the fake collapse of the Soviet Union years before it happened, but also warned that their would be a new military alliance with China during the final phase of the plan around 1999! Along with Gen. Jan Sejna, a high ranking Czech defector who provided similar warnings in his 1982 book, We Will Bury You, Golitsyn warned that the entire KGB effort was to be a grand deception to first disarm the West by faking the Soviet collapse, then to steal the West’s technology and money, and finally, to use it to destroy the West.

The plan was designed by KGB Chairman Yuri Andropov. An October, 1999 report by Stratfor Intelligence Service revealed that, "During the early 1980s plans were laid [by the KGB] to restructure economic relations with the West, through perestroika, and politically, through glasnost." The KGB trained a cadre of new reformers to be in positions of power, ready to take over when the KGB precipitated the collapse of the Soviet Union to a supposedly more market based economy. Mikhail Gorbachev, one of Andropov’s students, was tapped to implement the plan in the late 1980s.

While the West has been elated over the collapse of the Soviet Union, "the old regime’s politicians, bureaucracy and attitudes remained intact," states the Stratfor Report. "In this way Russia could capture foreign direct investment and the willing transfer of technology — all while maintaining the Communist Party’s grip on power.... By 1986, KGB officers and Komsomol officials were building the new economic infrastructure—banks, trading companies, stock and currency exchanges, and corporate shells—that were to attract and exploit Western investment."

The KGB temporarily lost control of perestroika and glasnost in the vacuum immediately following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Led by Boris Yeltsin and supported by the emerging banking Mafia that was originally created by the KGB, this rogue group of extreme reformers caught the favor of the Russian people and were swept into power.

The rogue bankers became known as the Family, who successfully dazzled Western investors and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) into investing and loaning Russia huge sums of money which was immediately siphoned off into private Swiss accounts or secretly redirected to Russia’s war machine. Russia was plunged into total corruption, and the Russian economy pillaged until it became an empty shell by 1996.

At the same time, according to the Stratfor Report, the KGB maintained control of the Russian treasury. Although still unclear, it seems likely that the KGB laundered Russia’s precious metals and cash, and at least some of the foreign investments through KGB-infiltrated banks in Europe and America. Vladimir Putin, now Prime Minister of Russia, was at the center of this effort.

The Family began to crumble as the rampant corruption was exposed. Russia appears looted and dispirited. Its visible physical plant is aging, it has little heavy industry other than that which is military oriented, and only a little investment. The IMF knows that Russia is now an empty shell with no chance of repaying its loan. The IMF is now playing a game of illusion, propping up the economy with additional loans to keep Russia from defaulting again while they try to figure out what to do. Boris Yeltsin’s primary purpose seems to be keeping this illusion alive.

The new Russian Topol-M ICBM is truck mounted, has a 6,200 mile range and carries up to 10 highly accurate nuclear warheads. Russia is spending billions on its military when it is supposed to be broke.

The KGB is now regaining control. But control of what? In spite of its poverty, Russia has continued to build new state-of-the-art submarines, airplanes, and nuclear missiles, using technology either stolen from the U.S. or given to it by President Clinton. How? In the October issue of Dispatches magazine, Nyquist states, "what Western observers constantly miss is the fact that there are two Russias—the broken-down exterior of Cold War fame, and the clandestine apparatus that spits out Topol-M ICBMs, ultra-quiet attack submarines, and state-of-the-art fighter aircraft."

Since the start of the bombing of Kosovo, Russia has begun to seriously mobilize for war—far in excess of what is necessary to put down Chechnya. It has created military alliances with China and Korea, who are also experiencing severe political and economic problems, and who are also mobilizing for war.

Russia’s complex plot of carefully planned deception appears to be culminating. But to what end? Every evidence points to war with the West. Pray that this does not happen, but prepare yourself spiritually and emotionally to be used by God if it does. V mc
