Lesson 9

¹"One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, 'Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. ²With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries'.

³Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. ⁴The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. ⁵This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. ⁶I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.

When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. ⁷Then the angel said to me: 'Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns. ⁸The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come'". (Revelation 17:1-8)

THE HARLOT CHURCH

Revelation 17

Just when things were getting exciting for John, he now experiences another interlude. Before God can continue with the final Judgement there are a few things John needs to see about the religion and government that will dominate the world during the full seven year Tribulation. The are known as Babylon the Great. Chapter 17 of Revelation reveals the destruction of the great whore Babylon--the harlot church--while Chapter 18 reveals the destruction of the political and economic system--the ten nation confederacy.

The identity of Babylon the Great is surrounded by much controversy. As discussed earlier, it has been identified as the actual City of Babylon, the City of Rome, the City of New York, and the old Babylonian religion. John provides a clue in Revelation 17:9 and 18,

''This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.... ¹⁸The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth."

Rome is often cited as the "city on seven hills." Verse 18 reveals the woman to be the "great city that rules over the kings of the earth."Babylon the Great could only be Rome. Why the secrecy? If John had used the name Rome, the persecution of the Christians would intensify until mass carnage would result. So the early Christians spoke of Rome in code, Babylon!

But there is more. The spiritual concept of adultery and fornication is spiritual infidelity, while that of prostitution and harlotry is a counterfeit religion. Hence, what John is saying here is the kings of the earth (royalty, global leaders, and the like) have abandoned their belief in God and lust after a false religion --pantheism! The seat of this harlot church will be Rome! The fact that the Vatican is located in Rome and is rumored that the occult is well entrenched within its leadership, make it a likely candidate and worthy of careful observation. It is premature, however, to say that the Vatican or the Roman Catholic Church is the harlot of Revelation 17. It may or may not be.

At any rate, the woman is riding the beast with ten horns and seven heads. This is the same beast as John describes in Revelation 13:1 and as Daniel describes in Daniel 7:7,24. The fact that she is controlling the beast suggests that the new world government will ride into power at the direction of the false religion. Indeed, the entire justification for the need for a world government is based on the false belief that only a world government can solve environmental problems such as acid rain, global climate change, ecosystem destruction and ozone depletion. The false belief that these global catastrophes are occurring are in turn based on the occult pantheistic belief that all things of nature are god or the goddess, and humans, merely one portion of the goddess must be destroying goddess earth--Gaia--with all of our unnatural technology and activities!

The Harlot Woman, Revelation 17:1-8

The waters upon which the prostitute or harlot sits in verse one (above) are explained in verse 15 as the many nations controlled by her seductive theology -- the belief that man can become a God. Ever since Eve fell prey to Satan's guile and desired to know good and evil equal to God Himself, man has been seduced by a religion that claimed that man could become god. Throughout history, kings of the world supported this religious prostitute and enabled her to reign supreme in their respective kingdoms. So shall it be in the last days.

The woman in verse three represents how in the latter days this harlot religion or church will actually control and direct the scarlet beast with ten horns -- the ten nation confederacy. As discussed earlier, the seven heads of the beast are likely the seven kingdoms of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. The seventh will be the revised Roman Empire that starts out as the ten nation confederacy. Just as the first six kingdoms were dominated by the Babylonian religion that first started in the days of Nimrod, so shall the seventh. And the harlot church will be so full of hatred for Christians that she will slaughter them by the hundreds of millions. The harlot woman will literally be "drunk with the blood of the saints."

This belief system was first conceived in Babel (Genesis 10 and 11) when Nimrod built his great tower to reach to heaven itself to the glory of man. After God confused mankind with different languages, the building of such towers or mounds, called ziggurats, continued for centuries. Built of mud bricks and paste, these towers were dedicated to various heathen deities. Highly complex and secretive set of religious rites evolved. A disciple advanced by going through a succession of secret initiations into supposedly higher and higher levels of knowledge (gnosis) of the mysteries of the cosmos, until they obtained god-like powers.

The wife of Nimrod became the head of the so-called Babylonian mysteries. She was known by the name of Semiramis and was the high priestess of idol worship. Semiramis supposedly was supernaturally impregnated and gave birth to Tammuz, who was considered the savior of his people and the fulfillment of the promise given to Eve. Tammuz, the son, was said to have been killed by a wild beast and afterward brought back to life. A counterfeit of Jesus Christ.

Baal was considered the equivalent of Tammuz in the Old Testament Canaanite religion and many Jews had idols of Baal and other deities. Goddess worship also was prevalent, complete with temple prostitutes who used sex in religious rites to draw closer to god. Variations of these beliefs prevailed in Egypt, Assyria, Medio, Persia, Greece, and Rome. It also dominated in the Celtic, American Indians, Incas and Mayan cultures. All eastern mystic religions today have roots back to Nimrod.

The woman in Revelation 17 is presented outwardly as gloriously attired, with purple and scarlet royal colors for clothing and gold, and precious stones for jewelry. In every kingdom where this religion has dominated, it controlled every aspect of the life of the people. Even the kings themselves were in many ways subservient to the priests, sorcerers and shamans who where in direct contact with the greater intelligence and knowledge of the spirit world. In many cultures, it took the form of human sacrifice to appease the various gods who were offended by some action, or would be offended if a sacrifice were not made.

The mystic dimensions of this belief system even found their way into the early church. John Walvoord notes that,

"The Babylonian cult eventually made its way to other cities including Pergamos, the site of one of the seven churches of Asia. The chief priest of the Babylonian cult wore crowns in the form of the head of a fish, in recognition of Dagon the fish god, with the title 'Keeper of the Bridge,' that is, the 'bridge' between man and Satan, imprinted on the crowns. The Roman equivalent of the title, Pontifex Maximus, was used by the Caesars and later Roman emperors, and was also adopted as the title for the bishop of Rome. In the early centuries of the church in Rome, the features of the mystery religion of Babylon with the Christian faith, a confusion which has continued down to the present day."⁽¹⁾

Although the Roman Catholic Church may have carried on many of the rituals and pageantry of this belief system thereby weakening the gospel, the real power of this highly esoteric and mystic religion resided in the Knights Templars. For a fee, and with a blessing from the Pope, these knights offered protection for the crusaders on their way to the Holy Land. The Knights became extremely wealthy and powerful. They eventually controlled the financial institutions as they existed then and all of the land and had power second only to the Church itself.

These Templars were steeped in the very essence of Babylonian idolatry and black magic and maintained their power by creating the feudal system of political power. The Templars represented the first wide-scale attempt to organize and mobile the forces of occultism for the purpose of gaining control of the world.⁽²⁾ Since they controlled all the land they controlled all people living in their realm. No one could raise crops, or even get a drink of water without their permission. Society stagnated and for hundreds of years the dark ages prevailed.

Although the Templars called themselves Christians, King Philip IV of France finally discovered the truth. Although the Pope refused to initially believe it and even protected them he was eventually forced by overwhelming evidence to recognize their duplicity. He promptly sentenced all Templars to burn at the stake -- all whom he could catch -- and stripped them of their land.

Tragically, the extremely oppressive feudal system established by the knights of the realm lived on to the time of the reformation in the 1700s. Although the Templars were destroyed, not all were killed, and the beliefs and practices were carried on first through the Rosicrucians and then through the Masons starting in 1717. While tremendous controversy surrounds this evolution, there can be little doubt that this belief system was carried on by the extremely rich and powerful throughout the centuries to present-day politics.

The Freemason Connection

Although the Freemasons continue to carry on many of the traditions and rites of this contemptuous religion, the secrets were passed on as theosophy.

The Theosophical Society was created in 1875 by Helena Blavatsky and Colonel Henry Steel Olcott. Most of the modern writings tracing the origins of this blasphemous religion were written by Blavatsky and her successor, Alice Bailey. Both insist the Freemasons continue the power of this religion, although most of its modern-day three million members have no idea what they really are involved in, and fiercely defend it against any such accusations. Blavatsky and Bailey say otherwise however:

"The Masonic Movement...will meet the need of those who can, and should wield power. It is the custodian of the law; it is the home of the Mysteries and the seat of initiation. It holds in its symbolism the ritual of Deity, and the way of salvation is pictorially preserved in its work. The methods of Deity are demonstrated in its Temples, and under the All-seeing Eye the work can go forward. It is a far more occult organisation than can be realised, and is intended to be the training school for the coming advanced occultists. In its ceremonials lies hid the wielding of the forces connected with the growth and life of the kingdoms of nature and the unfoldment of the divine aspects in man. In the comprehension of its symbolism will come the power to cooperate with the divine Plan.... There is no dissociation between the One Universal Church, the sacred inner Lodge of all true Masons, and the inner-most circles of the esoteric societies."⁽³⁾ (emphasis added)

Within theosophy there are seven rays of energy. The seventh, and most powerful is Masonry:

"The seventh Ray of Ceremonial Order or Magic. Masons. Financiers. Great businessmen and organizers of all kinds. Executives are found with these energies in their equipment."⁽⁴⁾

Visualization is the key to contacting the higher spiritual forces, and it is the purpose of Masons to aid in that process as the initiate moves to ever higher degrees.⁽⁵⁾ In her book Esoteric Psychology II, Bailey describes in detail how the first 18 degrees of Masonry parallel the various laws of theosophy.⁽⁶⁾ The purpose of the Masons, according to Bailey is to keep the ancient mysteries intact until the so-called Masters can once again walk amongst men:

"The Hierarchy will then restore the ancient Mysteries, the ancient landmarks so earnestly preserved by the Masonic Tradition and which have been securely embalmed in the Masonic ritual, awaiting the day of resurrection.... Any true Mason who understands, even if only to a slight degree, the implications of that in which he participates will recognize this most ancient of Oriental prayers giving the key to the three degrees of the Blue Lodge.... [This] is the platform upon which the restored teaching can be based, and the structure which can express, in powerful ritual and in organised detailed rites, the history of man's moving forward upon the Path of Return."⁽⁷⁾

Bailey makes it clear that most Mason's do not understand the true esoteric meanings nor their implications in the rituals of Masonry. It is clear that all who have studied this phenomenon agree that at the lower degrees, Masonry is an organization doing good social work and the majority of its three million-plus members in America are fiercely loyal:

"Possibly the biggest factor working in Freemasonry's favor is that a majority of its three million-plus members in this country think of it as a noble and virtuous society. While they should know better than to join a secret society to whom they must swear blind allegiance, they are usually unaware of the hidden agenda of the Order."

Why are they unaware? They are densely veiled, as 33rd (the highest degree) Mason Manly Hall reveals:

"Yet if the so-called secrets of Freemasonry were shouted from the housetops, the Fraternity would be absolutely safe, for certain spiritual qualities are necessary before the real Masonic secrets can be understood by the brethren themselves. Hence the alleged "exposures" of Freemasonry, printed by thousands and tens of thousands since 1730 down to the present hour, cannot injure the Fraternity. They reveal merely the outward forms and ceremonies of Freemasonry. Only those who have been weighed in the balance and found to be true, upright and square have prepared themselves by their own growth to appreciate the inner meanings of their Craft. To the rest of their brethren within or without the lodge, their sacred rituals must remain, as Shakespeare might have said, "words, words, words."⁽⁸⁾ (emphasis added)

Who are the so-called real Masons? They are those who are wholly assimilated by theosophy. Foster Bailey, Alice Bailey's husband and 33 degree Mason reveals:

"Little as it may be realized by the unthinking Mason who is interested only in the outer aspects of the Craft work, the whole fabric of Masonry may be regarded as an externalization of that inner spiritual group whose members, down through the ages have been the custodians of the Plan."⁽⁹⁾

Foster Bailey also taught that the true Mason receives the "truth" of the Masonic symbolism and ritual by spirits in a step by step process:

"Stage by stage They (the spirits) assist at the unfolding of the consciousness of the candidate until the time comes when he can "enter into light" and, in his turn become a light-bearer, one of the Illuminati who can assist the Lodge on High in bringing humanity into light."⁽¹⁰⁾

What is the esoteric meaning of the "light" to which Bailey refers? According to Blavatsky "it stands proven that Satan, or the Red Fiery Dragon, the "Lord of Phosphorus" and Lucifer, or "light-Bearer," is in us: it is our Mind--our tempter and Redeemer, our intelligent liberator and Saviour."⁽¹¹⁾ This is only one of the myriad of words having double meaning in Mason rituals.

Theosophist and occultist Isabel Cooper-Oakley observed:

"To the student of Theosophy who is also a student of Masonry it becomes more and more apparent that the movement which is generally termed Masonic had its roots in that true mysticism which originated as an ideal effort, from the spiritual Hierarchy which guides the evolution of the world."⁽¹²⁾

This can be the only explanation why both Bailey and Blavatsky interchange theosophy and masonry in their numerous books as if there was no difference at all between them. Alice Bailey refers to "The Great White Lodge" presiding over the new world order throughout her numerous books. Foster Bailey makes this connection to Masonry:

"This World Order, sometimes spoken of as 'the Great White Lodge,' has existed from the beginning of human life.... Also recognized in Masonry as "the Grand Lodge on High" [the Lodge has] existed and worked ceaselessly, as was its destiny, for the expansion of human consciousness. That Lodge is the mother lodge of all Masonic Lodges."⁽¹³⁾

Bailey, Anne Besant, and Blavatsky had very close links to Masonry. Bailey even published an article in the Master Mason Magazine.⁽¹⁴⁾ Cardinal Caro y Rodriguez, Archbishop of Santiago, Chile, discovered:

"Madame Blavatsky, the promoter or founder of Theosophy in Europe, was also a member of the Masonic Lodges; her successor, Anni Besant, President of the Theosophical Society in 1911 was Vice President and great Teacher of the Supreme Council of the International Order of Co-Masonry... and among us, in our city, the brother masons are the ones that contribute mostly to spread the Theosophical Society....

It is understood: The theosophical doctrines on the nature of God and the soul and the relationship between God and the soul, are the same doctrines as taught in masonry. It is enough to read the books dealing with the history of Theosophy to see that each theosophical center is founded, almost without a doubt by members of the Lodge."⁽¹⁵⁾

Until 1985 The Scottish Rite Journal published by the Mother Supreme Council of the World--The Supreme Council of the Thirty-Third and Last Degree of Masonry was called the New Age Magazine until adverse publicity forced them to change their name.⁽¹⁶⁾ In fact, Gary Kah, author of En Route to Global Occupation, has found that any Mason less than the Thirty-second Degree would have little to no knowledge of the role Masons have played in spreading New Age doctrine.⁽¹⁷⁾ On the other hand, it's almost impossible to deny that among the very highest ranking Masons, theosophy and masonry are one and the same.

If his connection is only partially true, it provides the missing link as to how this new religion has made such enormous inroads in our society in such a short period of time. Freemasonry is everywhere and is certainly in a position to plant and direct New Age focused groups by the thousands. Like Masonry itself, few members in these groups would need to know the true intentions of their respective leaders.

In 1992, Thirty-third Degree Mason Jim Shaw wrote a four page letter explaining why he had left the Masons some 25 years before. He concluded his letter by saying, "Teachings of the Kabbalah, Zend Avesta, and the Gnostics are used along with astrology and the doctrines of ancient false gods such as Osiris, Semiramis, Isis and Krishna. The Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are also given reference as deities. But whenever Christ was mention, it was only in the form of a mockery."⁽¹⁸⁾

There can be little doubt of the occultic nature of the higher degrees of Masonry. Like environmental leadership, what they believe and practice is their business as long as it is within the law and does not affect other Americans in a negative way. But strong evidence suggests they are indeed playing a role in a much larger agenda that threatens every American.

Foster Bailey, Alice Bailey's husband, a 33rd degree Mason details the New Age occult foundations of Freemasonry in the book The Spirit of Masonry. Behind the cosmically advanced New Group of World Servers, there exists an even greater group. They are the Hierarchy of Theosophy.⁽¹⁹⁾ Alice Bailey, as discussed earlier described these Masters as the Brotherhood.⁽²⁰⁾ In a lecture given a few years before, Foster Bailey describes how this occult hierarchy oversees an astute force of international financiers, businessmen and educators who are master manipulators:

"The occult Hierarchy of the planet functions in a way which is a bit analogous to the way any great international, powerful corporation functions in the world today... If an international business concern decides to undertake expansion and investment in a new part of the world, they have to have capital, they have to have the personnel, they have to study the problems involved, they have to lay their plan so that an investment of so many millions will in a certain number of years produce sufficient profits to justify it.

"The [occult Hierarchy] are under the necessity of adjusting their developments to the existing government whatever it may be, good or bad, and that part of the world in which they're proposing to operate. They study the people and the language as well as the sources of raw material, availability and quality of labor and transport problems. They send out scouts and they test reactions to their plans. Finally, when they are ready, they move forward. The Hierarchy functions like that."⁽²¹⁾

If what theosophical literature claims about Masonry is true, then those Masons--the vast majority--who are doing good work for society are being used for an agenda they probably don't agree with. It would be in their own best interest to do a thorough investigation of their own high ranking leadership.

This religion and its adulteress union with the political system of a people is completely detestable to the true and living God. Its roots of pantheism, monism, gnosticism and many other "isms" plagued God's chosen people from the time of Abraham. The most modern "ism" that is rooted to the Babylonian religion is environmentalism.

Environmentalism--The World Religion

As noted in earlier discussions, theosophical beliefs in pantheism and gnosticism explosively entered American culture in the counterculture new age movement during the 1960s and 1970s. Their first effort was to make "peace" not war But they were also one with nature. As Greenpeace cofounder Bob Hunter explained in Greenpeace Chronicles:

"Nature is quite obviously the physical totality of God's work. Within it, as part of it . . . we become aware that Nature is, in fact, us. The world is our Body . . . . Mother Earth is not passive. To align oneself with Her energies is to liberate ... the God-head within you, to be lifted into a higher state of being."⁽²²⁾

In one of many Sierra Club Philosophy books Thomas Berry notes that

"The web of relationships is what first impinges on our waking consciousness.... Every being has its own interior, its self, its mystery, its [sacred] aspect. . . . To deprive any being of this sacred quality is to disrupt the larger order of the universe. Reverence will be total or it will not be at all.... We [have] made our terrifying assault upon the earth with an irrationality that is stunning in enormity."⁽²³⁾

The purpose of these Sierra Club books are to open ones mind to the "true" dimensions of the interrelatedness of all things, one of the fundamental beliefs of pantheism and theosophy:

"We are just beginning to explore what it means to be a part of the universe that is alive. For most people, the emerging view of nature remains in a realm separate from the emotions and textures of daily experiences. This missing link between scientific breakthroughs and the general consciousness is the focus of the Sierra Club Nature and Natural Philosophy Library."⁽²⁴⁾

In yet another Sierra Club book we find that Goddess worship should be a guiding force in our society:

"Because most people who live in an urban or suburban setting have little or no daily contact with the Earth, we require something like visualization to help us get in touch with our planet... the universe that ... encourage health and well-being.... Priestesses of Gaia were trained in the art of visualization and had dedicated their lives to a study of the spirit of the living Earth. When asked to help a person solve a problem--such as when to plant their fields or how to influence the conception of children--the priestess. . . consulted with Gaia.⁽²⁵⁾

Theosophy is rapidly becoming the world religion. With the ratification of the Earth Charter and the World Covenant on the Environment and Development, it will have the binding force of law. No one will be allowed to practice Biblical Christianity without the threat of death. This new world religion is nearly upon us, but the Church in America is totally blind to it to the Church's shame and judgement.

The Destruction of the Harlot Woman--Revelation 17:16-17

In an amazing about-face, John reveals that the beast hates the harlot woman,

¹⁶The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. ¹⁷For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until God's words are fulfilled. Revelation 17:16-17

Why would they hate the harlot woman? Because she had too much power. Like the pantheistic cultures of the past, the real power of the culture lay in the hands of the medicine men, the witch doctors and other religious leaders, not the chief or king. The Harlot Woman was merely a tool to get control. Once that power was in their hands the Harlot Woman or Church was no longer needed--in fact it was a royal pain in the posterior. It kept them from wielding the power that they deserved, that they lusted after. It kept them from really doing what they wanted to do--rule the economic markets of the world without hindrance. They were, after all, gods!

Could this really happen in the evolving world government. Not only could it happen. It is happening--right now with the Multilateral Agreement on Investment. This treaty was written by the very same global financiers and corporations that are funding the radical environmental movement and religion since the late 1960s to the tune of $3-5 billion a year. This new treaty would allow international corporations the right to sue governments to locate in their nations, states and counties. The nations must provide them land upon which to build their factories or offices. The corporations could sue nations for lost profits if there is civil unrest. Even more astonishing, these corporations would be able to sue governments to remove environmental and human safety laws if they "unfairly" cause the corporations to lose profits!⁽²⁶⁾

In other words, the international financiers and corporations will have more power than governments! Even more amazing, these very same global elitists that have been funding this harlot religion through the environmental movement, are now setting up the mechanism to destroy her once they have the world government in place with them at the drivers seat--just as prophesied by John in Revelation 17:16!

Remember, our true enemy is not people or the things that we can see, "but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12) What is seen at the physical level always has roots in the spiritual level. Once Satan embodies the Antichirst, he will no longer have need of the harlot church. Pantheism and Theosophy were merely illusions to delude and deceive the people--just as described by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Satan is now in control and the harlot church that he once so carefully cultivated is now useless garbage to be thrown out and destroyed! The environmentalists, who now wield so much power, are mere pawns of a much more dangerous foe, and will eventually be destroyed along with those who they are now destroying!

The Destruction of Babylon the Great

Revelation 18

In spite of the disobedience of the church, God is faithful to his word. He will judge this world. The beast is made of both iron and clay, built upon delusion, delusion and lies. As God unleashes his wrath upon the world, the economic Babylon crumbles,

¹After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. ²With a mighty voice he shouted: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. ³For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

⁴Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; ⁵for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. ⁶Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup. ⁷Give her as much torture and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself. In her heart she boasts, `I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never mourn.' ⁸Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her. Revelation 18:1-8

Plagues and famine wrought by God's incessant wrath destroy the great economic empire. But God is not finished yet,

⁹"When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. ¹⁰Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry: "`Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come!'

¹¹"The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes any more -- ¹²cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; ¹³cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and bodies and souls of men.

¹⁴"They will say, `The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your riches and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.' ¹⁵The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn ¹⁶and cry out: "`Woe! Woe, O great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls! ¹⁷In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!' "Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. ¹⁸When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, `Was there ever a city like this great city?' ¹⁹They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out: "`Woe! Woe, O great city, where all who had ships on the sea became rich through her wealth! In one hour she has been brought to ruin! ²⁰Rejoice over her, O heaven! Rejoice, saints and apostles and prophets! God has judged her for the way she treated you.'" Revelation 18:9-20

Gone is the aspirations of generations of occultic global leaders, financiers and industrialists. Their dreams and lust for power and absolute control turned to dust--bitter is its taste,

²³ Your merchants were the world's great men. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray. ²⁴ In her was found the blood of prophets and of the saints, and of all who have been killed on the earth." Revelation 18:23-24

Only one thing remains--Armageddon and judgement.
